At San Miguel High School, our goal is to meet each student where they are, challenge them to grow academically and personally, and provide a transformative, college-preparatory education rooted in the Lasallian tradition of quality education and faith-filled accompaniment.

Through the Cristo Rey model and a personalized learning environment, San Miguel combines rigorous academics, real-world professional experience, and meaningful relationships that prepare students to succeed in college, career, and life while developing the whole person.

To and Through College - College Counseling and Support

Education at San Miguel High School, as part of the Cristo Rey Network, is intentionally college preparatory—equipping students with the academic foundation, professional experience, and support needed to succeed in higher education and beyond.

Through individualized college counseling beginning in freshman year and continuing through senior year, paired with Cristo Rey Network university partnerships, students receive personalized guidance and expanded access to college opportunities nationwide.

Advanced Courses at San Miguel
Pre-AP | AP (Advanced Placement)

San Miguel offers multiple pathways for students to pursue academic excellence and prepare for success in college and beyond. Beginning sophomore year, students may enroll in Pre-AP courses designed to strengthen analytical thinking, academic habits, and readiness for advanced coursework.

As students progress, Advanced Placement (AP) courses provide opportunities to engage with college-level material that builds critical thinking, discipline, and intellectual confidence while offering the potential to earn college credit through successful AP exam performance.

Pre-AP courses are integrated throughout the curriculum, providing increased rigor and personalized challenge that prepares students for advanced study and supports continued academic growth.

 AP contribute additional weight to students’ GPA, strengthening their academic profile for college and university admissions.
