College Counseling
Preparing Students for College, Career, and Life.
At San Miguel High School, college counseling is an intentional, mission-driven four-year process that reflects the expectations of both the Cristo Rey model and our Lasallian commitment to educating the whole person. Through personalized guidance, students are empowered to discover their gifts, explore post-secondary opportunities, and develop a clear pathway toward college, career, and lifelong success.
Students engage in structured college and career readiness programming that includes goal setting, career exploration, academic planning, and reflection on their experiences through the Corporate Work Study Program. Throughout their four years, students receive individualized support with college exploration, campus visits, admissions planning, financial aid, scholarship opportunities, and the completion of college applications.
Our college counseling program partners closely with students and families to ensure every graduate is prepared to enroll in and persist through college. Through individual counseling meetings, classroom workshops, family information sessions, and college readiness resources, students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to navigate the transition from San Miguel to higher education and beyond. Guided by the Cristo Rey Network expectation that every student be accepted to college, we work to ensure that each graduate is equipped to thrive academically, professionally, and personally in the next chapter of their journey.
